Filming on the Monorail and Light Rail

The Monorail and Light Rail offer a variety of still, film, television or TVC shooting opportunities. We understand the needs of the crew and our processes are very simple as we are the owners, managers and operators of the vehicles and the systems.

The Monorail, itself a Sydney icon, can offer an extra touch to any Sydney City shot as well as providing a perfect position to shoot from for views over the CBD streets or Darling Harbour. The Monorail also provides a good position to shoot back towards the City from the west.

The Light Rail interior provides an easily accessible and controlled transport environment which could substitute for a tram, train or bus.

When filming you will have exclusive use of the vehicles while in service or stationary. Please be aware that trams and monorails in service must work in with the network vehicles.

Costs
Exclusive use of Monorail or Light Rail vehicle for commercial filming is $1500/hr (before 6am or after 10pm $2000/hr.)
